    Scenario walkthrough

A short example showing how this tracker helps you find and fix a real problem.

    1. Week 1: You log 6 returns. Four say "Not as described", one says "Wrong size", and one says "Changed mind". The dashboard shows "Not as described" as the top reason.
    2. Week 2: You check the notes. Customers mention the photos look lighter than the real item. You update the listing with a new photo and a note about screen color differences.
    3. Week 3 and 4: You keep logging returns. "Not as described" drops from 4 to 1. "Changed mind" stays about the same. The pattern suggests the photo update helped.
    4. Month 2: You print the report and compare it to last month. The top returned SKU changed from one mug style to a new candle. You decide to add a scent strength note to the candle listing.

    Common mistakes when tracking returns

    • Logging returns weeks later from memory. Details get fuzzy and reasons get guessed.
    • Using too many reason tags. Start with 6 to 8 clear categories and only add more if you need them.
    • Ignoring small patterns. Three returns for the same SKU in a month can be a real signal.
    • Not writing notes. A reason tag alone rarely tells you what to fix in the listing or product.
    • Only counting returns. Compare return counts to units sold when you can. A 5% return rate on a popular item may be normal.

    Troubleshooting

The charts look empty even though I added returns.
Check the date filter above the dashboard. If you selected "Last 3 months" but your returns are older, switch to "Last 12 months".
I accidentally added a return twice.
Use the delete button on the right side of each row in the Recent returns table to remove the duplicate.
I want to share this with a partner.
Click "Print report" in the sidebar and save the summary as a PDF. You can also export a CSV file and share that.
